Seen, Heard, and Held: “Hands” of Support

As facilitators in NC, we are fortunate to have access to many “Hands” of support as we implement COSP and COSC Approach. Generous funding from the Psychoanalytic Center of the Carolinas (PCC) makes this support free!

Reflective Practice

Reflection lies at the heart of infant and early childhood mental health best practice, inviting caregivers and professionals to look back, look out, and look within to understand themselves and those they care for. The theory of change for Circle of Security also rests on reflection. Reflection leads to increased awareness and to increased choices; choices in turn generate intentional change for families, educators, and facilitators alike. Reflective practice takes center stage in our support for facilitators.

Join Circles of Support

Just as we create a holding environment in which caregivers feel safe to explore and deepen their reflective capacity, Circles of Support are a safe place for us to increase our own reflective capacity. In Circles of Support, we gather virtually on Zoom to pose our questions, to seek new ideas, to share Circle stories, to reflect on our personal shark music, and most importantly, to be Held.

COSP Fidelity Coaching

Fidelity coaching supports COSP facilitators in deepening their practice as they implement with caregivers. Facilitators who are ready to go deeper in their reflective practice (and have completed implementation of a minimum of two COSP groups) are eligible to participate in fidelity coaching, a process that involves meeting on Zoom with a certified fidelity coach to be supported on the COSP journey with reflections from the fidelity journal. Facilitators meet with their coach weekly for 90 minutes across 9 weeks, simultaneous to their offering a COSP group.
